The Hausner Construction Company Story

I was born in 1941 the youngest of eleven children. As a youth I grew up in the Midwestern city of Omaha, Nebraska. I experienced tremendous poverty. This situation however did not keep me from pursuing my dreams; I had a burning desire to succeed.

At the age of twenty-two with less than three hundred dollars and an old Plymouth automobile, I began my journey to California to seek a better life. Through my natural sales ability I eventually found a position with a home improvement company in Garden Grove, California. Fine tuning my craft over a period of five years, I decided to venture into my own business. Hausner Construction Company was founded in 1976. The humble beginnings included me working out of my house and one other employee, a field canvasser.

By bringing strong Midwestern values to my customers, I have seen the company grow to become the leader in the Southern California market place for home improvements. Those values include always putting my customers first. My motto has always been “It doesn’t take a genius to realize that without customers and very satisfied customers you can’t possibility stay in business.”

When singling out the most important ingredients for the longevity, my company does not hesitate or pause: “The Hausner Construction Company was built on the premise to always offer their customers the very best home improvement products at the lowest possible price. Anyone can offer a lower price than Hausner Construction, but no one can offer a better product for less money.”

Service is the last, but far from the least ingredient which has allowed Hausner Construction to set itself far above its competitors. “Our customers have entrusted us to keep our commitments to them and that includes servicing what we sell. We always do this to the best of our ability. Most of the time surpassing what was required of us in the first place.”

The present day operation now sees my son Robert at the helm as president of the company. Larry, as CEO, still advises Robert on a daily bases. This change in leadership now allows me to reap the fruits of my labor, spending time with my wife, Sandra, and our 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Robert, having started working at the company when he was not yet sixteen years old, brings over 30 years experience with as he assumes control of the day to day operation. The same strong principles have been instilled in him that has brought Hausner Construction to the success we enjoy today.

Robert and I both share a common goal and that is for one or both of Robert’s sons to one day carry on the tradition of the Hausner Construction Company.
